Reporting an error

Tell us through the channels on our contact page. Include the page URL and what specifically is wrong. Requests that identify a factual error are treated as urgent.

How we handle it

• We check the claim against the original publisher's current article.
• If the original report has been corrected, our brief is updated to match and the update time on the page changes.
• If our summary misrepresented an accurate report, we rewrite the brief and note the correction on the page.
• If a story is retracted by its publisher, our brief is removed from the site and from every section page, hub and sitemap.
• Where a brief was pushed to Telegram, a correction is posted to the channel too.

Take-down requests

Publishers who do not want their reporting summarised here can ask us to remove it and we will, without argument. Individuals who believe a brief contains inaccurate information about them can use the same route.
