About WorldPing

What we do

WorldPing monitors more than sixty established newsrooms and wire services continuously. When a story publishes, our newsdesk produces a short brief: what happened, the facts that matter, why it matters, and what to watch next. Every brief names the newsroom that did the original reporting and links straight to it.

We do not claim other newsrooms' reporting as our own. Copyright in the original articles stays with the publisher. Our contribution is the summarising, the context, the timeline of how a story developed across sources, and the topic hubs that keep a running story in one place.

How a brief is produced

• A story is picked up from a monitored newsroom feed within about a minute of publication.
• Routine filler — fixture previews, odds, rumour columns — is filtered out before publication.
• The brief is written from the reported facts only; nothing is added that the source did not report.
• Key facts, publication times and the source name are attached to the page.
• The story is linked into its section page and into every relevant topic hub.

Who is responsible

WorldPing is a small independent publication. Editorial decisions — which sources are monitored, what gets filtered, how briefs are written and corrected — are made by the WorldPing newsdesk, which is the site's founding editor. There is no outside editorial control.
